Types of braking system in car

Brakes are used to control the speed of any moving motor vehicle. It is basically a safety feature that absorbs energy from a running system and impedes movement. Used to slow down the wheel or axle. Cars, bicycles or motorcycles - all types of vehicles have brakes. This brake has Rockmoff.

Braking is usually done by friction and during braking the kinetic energy is converted into thermal energy by friction.

Disc brakes

Disc brakes have long been used to reduce the speed of moving wheels. Such brake systems have brake calipers and brake rotors. The rotor is attached to the wheel through a wheel hub and rotates with the wheel. The brake caliper rests on the rotor and is a stationary part. When the brake pedal is pressed, the force presses the rotor in two directions through the pad of the brake caliper. This results in braking through the generated friction. This friction produces a lot of heat in the brake rotor. This type of brake is used on the wheels of almost all vehicles from mid range to premium segment.

Drum break

The drum brake has a part of the drum shape between the wheels. In this type of brake system a drum is attached to the wheel through a hub and rotates. Inside the drum are brake pistons and brake shoes. When the brake pedal is pressed, the pressure is transmitted to the piston and as a result the brake shoe moves towards the 2 drums. As a result of friction with the drum, kinetic energy is converted into heat energy and braking is completed. Drum brakes can generate less brake force than disc brakes. This is why this brake is usually used as a support brake on the rear wheel of a vehicle. This braking technology is used in relatively low cost cars.

Emergency break

This brake is used in times of danger. This brake system works without any relation to drum brakes or disc brakes. Multiple types of emergency brakes are used in cars. Some cars use a third pedal for emergency braking. In many cases the emergency brake lever is next to the steering wheel. Almost all types of emergency brakes reduce the speed by creating pressure on the wheels. This brake is used when the drum or disc brakes stop working. In addition, many people use this brake when parking cars.

Anti-lock brake

The anti-lock braking system (ABS) comes as a standard safety feature in modern cars. Even an experienced driver can sometimes have unexpected problems. The driver jumped on the brakes to avoid an impending collision or danger on the front road. To avoid this danger the anti-lock braking system (ABS) prevents it from locking the wheels. This is known as anti-skid braking system. Anti-lock braking systems help prevent car and motorcycle wheel lockups and improve steering control during braking.

Nowadays almost all cars have anti-lock brake system. If there is ABS, the wheel does not get locked, so it prevents the car from slipping. This feature helps in safe driving during monsoons.
