No one bought Shakib in IPL

After a long wait in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was named in the set number three. However, no one bid to pick him up by calling set number three till half past noon. The base price of Shakib in this auction was 2 crore rupees. Like Shakib, Steve Smith of Australia, Suresh Raina of India and David Miller of South Africa are unsold.

The mega auction of the 2022 event started at 12 noon Bangladesh time on Saturday (February 12). This magnificent event is being held in Bangalore. At the beginning, Chairman Brijesh Patel announced the change of the name of the sponsoring organization of the tournament. Tata Group is now the new sponsor of IPL after changing from Vivo.

There are a total of 590 cricketers in this auction. Of these, 370 are Indian cricketers and 220 are foreign cricketers. The franchises have already submitted the names of three players before the auction. The new two teams Laxmi and Gujarat have joined the eight teams of the previous edition.

Shakib played for Kolkata Knight Riders from 2011 to 2017. After that he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 and 2019 IPL. The left-arm all-rounder returned to Kolkata last season after three years.

Shakib had a disappointing performance in the last IPL. He took only 4 wickets in 8 matches for Kolkata Knight Riders. He made only 47 runs with the bat.

But Shakib is cutting the ongoing BPL great. He scored 276 runs in 9 matches. On the other hand, he is in great rhythm with 15 wickets in an equal number of matches. All in all, Bhaswar Shakib in the glory of all-round performance. It is disappointing not to get his team in such a situation. But hope is not over yet. If the franchisees show interest, he will be put up for auction again on the second day tomorrow (Sunday).

Meanwhile, the world's best all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan did not get a team, but Delhi fast bowler Mostafizur Rahman was included in the team for Rs 2 crore. Delhi Capitals bought the cutter master at the base price.

In addition to these two, there are three other players from Bangladesh - Taskin Ahmed, Shariful Islam and Liton Das. The base price of all three is Rs 50 lakh.
