Another beautiful tourist spot has been discovered in Sylhet. Name Bujir forest! An amazing forest hidden in the cosmos. Its location is in a secluded place at the very edge of Jaintapur and Gowainghat upazilas of Sylhet. This forest is like an ideal garden of the universe. Characteristically, Buji's forest is a 'swamp forest'. The dark forest under the lamp at the confluence of the three rivers has survived since time immemorial. The rivers Karich and Kampana have gone through this river. Attached to it is a tributary of the Purakhai river.

Karich Bridge after Haripur along Sylhet-Tamabil road. The forest is located just four kilometers west of the bridge. This seems to be due to geographical isolation and inaccessibility. A long line of hijl-karch-jarul-barun-shewra-buri and kadam can be seen on the river flowing through the heart of the forest. The trees surround each other. Each hundred-year-old palm tree has its own stalks and leaves in many places. In the heavy rain, he seemed to wake up anew. The forest has its own unique world with all the various trees, aquatic-terrestrial-amphibian animals and fish hunters. It is a mystery how it has remained hidden from the eyes of tourists for centuries.

Characteristically, Buji's forest is a 'swamp forest'. The whole ecosystem of the forest is dependent on water. It is located in a secluded place among many haors at the very edge of Jaintapur and Gowainghat upazilas of Sylhet.

Upon entering the forest, one can see the dense jungles of Murta, Bet, Hogla and Shaun. When you see these bushes under the big trees, it may seem as if they have covered the small trees with a cuddly sheet like a mother. In the light and darkness of the evening, one of the palm trees seems to be a saint immersed in deep meditation. On the west-north side of the forest there is a huge haor. On the other side of the horizon, the palm fronds of the Khasia-Jainta hills cannot help but amaze the mind.

Bujr Forest is a forest rich in biodiversity. A rich habitat for a wide variety of plants, aquatic and terrestrial animals. There are many species of animals including otters, rats, squirrels and geckos in the forest. Many fishermen also live in the forest, local fishermen said. The forest is home to eagles, eagles, dahukas, kanabaks, balihas and various species of birds. Especially in winter, the forest is full of migratory birds chirping. The forest is full of native species of fish. Local fishermen hunt fish in this forest to get various traps.

Despite all these attractions, the forest does not exist in the documents of the forest department. However, a list of Jalmahals above 20 acres mentions a place called Bujir Beel which is located in Fatehpur Union of Jaintapur. The forest still exists as it was formed by nature at some point in ancient times. With its endless resources, it has met the needs of human beings for centuries, maintaining the balance of environment and nature. The forest is well-known to the people of the village of Hemu, but it is unknown to outsiders.
